Move to cloud when it saves money, not because it sounds modern
Server and application migration, managed hosting, backup and disaster recovery.
You are probably here because
- Your server sits in an office cupboard with no cooling or backup power
- There is no tested recovery plan if that server dies
- Hosting costs keep rising with no clear reason
- Remote staff cannot reach internal systems safely
The question worth asking first
Cloud is not automatically better. It is better for recovery, for remote access and for systems that must not go down. It is not automatically cheaper, and anyone who tells you it always is has not looked at your workload.
Backup is not disaster recovery
A backup is a copy of your data. Disaster recovery is a tested plan for getting your business running again. Many organisations have the first and assume they have the second. We test restores, because a backup that has never been restored is an assumption.
Questions people actually ask
Is cloud cheaper than our own server?
Not always. Cloud wins on reliability, recovery and remote access. For steady predictable workloads a local server can still cost less. We run the numbers both ways and show you.
What about power cuts and internet outages?
That is exactly the trade-off to think through. Cloud protects you from your building's power problems but depends on your internet link. For some businesses the answer is a hybrid setup.
